Twelve Trees Danceathon Live Event

  • The Awesome Studio Station Approach Frome BA11 1RE UK (map)

Join us for a 9-hour conscious dance journey in Frome, hosted at Awesome Studios on Saturday 18th October from 12:30pm to 10pm. Local DJ Mother of Mankind (Tom Rickey) will be guiding us through an epic musical landscape inspired by the ACER integration community - supporting us to Accept difficult emotions, Connect with each other, deepen our Embodiment, and Restore our sense of who we truly are.

We’ll move through 12 x 45-minute dance waves, each on our own yoga mat in a low-lit, immersive space where you can dance, express, and process however you need. Each 45 min dance wave will build gently from stillness, rise into catharsis and release, and land in rest and integration. Expect a rich mix of genres: global, ambient, techno, Afro, reggae, drum’n’bass, 90s rave, and even a few classic belter ballads you’ll know the words to and want to sing along.

Each dance wave is themed around the 12 core processes of ACER, each one helping us with an element of connectedness: to ourselves, to each other, to the world around us. These themes will be lightly introduced by Dr Ros Watts, Frome resident and founder of ACER (and partner of our DJ, Tom), to support a meaningful and emotional arc throughout the day.

We’re honoured to be joined by Josie Naughton, founder and CEO of Choose Love, who will speak about their humanitarian work in Gaza. Please arrive promptly at 12.30, to get settled in time for Josie’s Introduction to the event.

This is a fundraiser for Choose Love’s Gaza Appeal. All profits from ticket sales (after costs) will go directly to their work.

What to bring:

  • A yoga mat

  • Water bottle

  • Comfortable clothes

  • No alcohol, please

Snacks are available next door at Rye Bakery, and you’re welcome to take breaks — but please arrive at 12:30pm for a 1pm start, and plan to stay until the end at 10pm if you can.

We’ll attempt to livestream the DJ set to ACER community members around the world- though it’s our first go, so please expect some tech hiccups!

This event is likely to bring us face to face with our suppressed emotions, together. It’s not a disco, it’s a real commitment, and a gesture of courage and solidarity. When we feel so powerless in the face of shocking world events, it’s always good to come together and remember the grief and love that connects us all.
