Twelve Trees Danceathon Online Event

Join us to take part in a global conscious dance journey from your living room! Our Danceathon will be livestreamed from the UK, where Dr Rosalind Watts (founder of ACER Integration) and DJ Mother of Mankind (Tom Rickey) will be guiding a 9-hour danceathon in Somerset, UK,  to raise money for Choose Love.  We would love our global friends to tune in for at least part of the journey.

Tom and Ros will be guiding us through an epic musical landscape inspired by the ACER integration community - supporting us to Accept difficult emotions, Connect with each other, deepen our Embodiment, and Restore our sense of who we truly are.

We’ll move through 12 x 45-minute dance waves, each on our own yoga mat-  free to dance, express, rest and process however we might need. Each 45 min dance wave will build gently from stillness, rise into catharsis and release, and land in rest and integration. Expect a rich mix of genres:  global, ambient, techno, Afro, reggae, drum’n’bass, 90s rave, and even a few classic belter ballads you’ll know the words to and want to sing along.

Each dance wave is themed around the 12 core processes of ACER, each one helping us with an element of connectedness: to ourselves, to each other, to the world around us. These themes will be lightly introduced by Ros to support a meaningful and emotional arc through thhe process.

We’re honoured to be joined by Josie Naughton, founder and CEO of Choose Love, who will speak to us all at the start of the Danceathon about Choose Love’s humanitarian work in Gaza. Please arrive promptly, at least 5 mins before 1pm GMT  to get settled in time for Josie’s Introduction to the event.

You can join us for the whole of the journey, or part of it, depending on your timezone. You can take as many breaks as you need- just lie on your yoga mat when you need to rest.

You can join us solo, or assemble a group of friends to gather in your living room and connect to the livestream together. You might like to make extra time for a sharing circle before and after you join us in the dance.  This event is likely to bring us face to face with our suppressed emotions, together. It’s not a disco, it’s a real commitment, and a gesture of courage and solidarity.  When we feel so powerless in the face of shocking world events, it’s always good to come together and remember the grief and love that connects us all.

This is the first time we are trying this, and to maximise the donation to Choose Love we are keeping the tech budget to a minimum, so there could be hitches/imperfections, although we are aiming for excellent sound quality.  The camera will be focused on the DJ, and on Ros guiding the journey, and we can guarantee you’ll access the music, even if the visuals aren’t perfect.

This is a fundraiser for Choose Love’s Gaza Appeal. All profits from ticket sales (after costs) will go directly to their work. Costs will be covered by people attending the in-person event, so all the money from your livestream access ticket will go directly to Choose Love
